Do you take time for you on Mother’s Day? Every other day of the year mom’s like myself sacrifice for the sake of their kids. Some of our actions are huge and others are just tiny everyday gestures, but all in all us moms are constantly putting ourselves dead last. It’s just what moms like myself tend to do, it’s our nature to meet our kids needs first. We cancel our plans at the last second, because our kids have last minute plans. We put off organizing our own closet to help our own kids clean theirs. We forgo watching a TV show we’ve been dying to see, so they can watch their favorite TV episode for the 99th time. We put ourselves last day after day without much though. But this year, I’m determined to take a little time for me and I hope you will too!
I won’t kid you, my quest to put myself first a bit on this particular Mother’s Day is going to be a bit of challenge. I’m scheduled to be flying home with hubby and our four youngest from our family vacation. An airport with little ones is hardly the time to become all about me. However be it all for just an hour, I think I can make it happen at some point. Perhaps just by resisting my urge to immediately take up house cleaning activities when I spot the mess my teenage son will likely have waiting for us.
Guess I should probably put my mom second?
